Stone Steps in Holly Michigan
These three foot wide stone steps were built on a hill where the run is longer than the rise. This situation arises often. On this project, the client decided on landings made of compacted crushed limestone ( a low cost but effective surface ). We bordered the limestone with black aluminum edging to contain the crushed gravel during rain storms. This hill is mostly shaded so we added Pachysandra ground cover along the boundaries to also help prevent soil erosion and provide a low maintenance solution.
