Wolverine Lake Limestone Retaining Wall

This lakeside seawall was recently completed on Wolverine Lake. When building a retaining wall next to a waterway we always double up on our geotextile fabric to ensure that we get no erosion into the lake. Typically lakefront retaining walls are pounded by waves and ice in the winter. We use large stone pieces when working by the water because we don’t want them to move in the future. In this application we have a base beneath the limestone ledgrocks that is 12” thick of gravel and we backfilled behind the stones 12”” to secure and stabilize the ledgerocks. We added topsoil and sod to complete the installation
